Kindergarten Readiness

The Kindergarten Readiness Assessment – Literacy (KRA-L) is an evaluation of a student’s overall preparation and knowledge prior to the beginning of kindergarten. This assessment is required to be administered before October 1 of the school year to make it possible for the teacher to tailor and craft learning experiences most appropriate to the student’s needs in learning to read.

Richard Allen’s stellar performance by its kindergarten students on the KRA-L is a tribute to the excellent work by the faculty and staff of WestPark Academy, which is located on the same campus as Richard Allen Preparatory.  The two faculties work closely to ensure that each and every student is fully prepared for the rigors of the Richard Allen Way in kindergarten and the ensuing academic years.
